Website redesign for a small business, without the monthly bill
Published October 30, 2026
An old or clunky website quietly costs you the customers who look you up on their phone before they call, then give up when it is slow or hard to read and go to whoever looks better. A good redesign fixes that. Here is what a redesign should actually change, what it should cost, and how to do it without losing your web address or your place on Google.
Signs your site is due for a redesign
You do not need to be a web expert to tell. Pull your site up on your own phone and look honestly:
- The text is tiny, or you have to pinch and zoom to read it.
- The buttons are hard to tap, and your phone number is not one tap to call.
- It takes more than a couple of seconds to load.
- The hours, prices, or services on it are out of date.
- It was built years ago, or on a tool you can no longer easily update.
- It just looks older or cheaper than the business you actually run.
Any one of these is enough to lose a customer who was ready to call. Most people decide in a few seconds whether a business looks real and worth their time, and a dated site answers that the wrong way.
What a redesign should fix
A redesign is not just a fresh coat of paint. The version worth paying for fixes the things that actually win or lose a customer:
- Phone first. It reads cleanly on a phone, loads fast, and puts tap-to-call and your hours right up top, because that is how most people find you.
- Clear and current. Your real services, hours, photos, and reviews, so someone can see what you do and trust it in one glance.
- Built to be found. Set up for search and for AI assistants, so you show up when someone looks for what you do nearby.
- Easy to change. New hours or a new photo should be a quick message, not a project.
How the switch happens without anything breaking
The part owners worry about is downtime and losing their address. The safe way removes both. We build your new site first and leave your current one up the whole time. You look at the new version next to your old one, ask for any changes, and only when you approve it do we point your existing domain at the new site. That switch takes effect quickly, so there is no gap your customers would notice, your email on the domain keeps working, and your web address stays exactly the same.
What a redesign should cost
This is where most owners get burned. A website builder or an agency charges you every month for as long as the site is up, so a redesign becomes a bill that never ends. We do it the other way. A redesign with Frankford & Marsh is a flat one-time $995, your own domain and first year of hosting included, and there is no monthly bill for the site. After the first year it is $199 a year to keep it hosted and live, or an optional care plan if you want unlimited edits. A single edit on its own is $49. You own the result outright.
Will I lose my Google ranking?
Not when it is done right. Because you keep the same domain, most of your search history stays with you. A clean rebuild that keeps your important pages and is faster and easier to use on a phone usually holds or improves where you show up, since that is exactly what search engines reward now. A slow, dated site is more likely to be hurting your ranking than protecting it.
See your redesign first, free
You do not have to decide from a sales pitch. We build a working redesign of your site from your public information and show it to you for free, before you pay anything. Open it next to your current site, change whatever you want, and make it live only once you are happy with it. You pay the one-time fee only after it is actually live on your domain.
